The webinar will launch a year of activity that supports the ambition and commitment of local authorities to reach Net Zero emissions as soon as possible in a way that benefits their communities.
We will be launching the first group of local leaders who have re-pledged to UK100’s new, more ambitious membership pledge which aligns with Net Zero and we will be inviting local leaders from across the UK to join us.
Nigel Topping, UK High Level Climate Action Champion for the UN Climate Summit, COP26, will be giving a keynote speech on why engaging UK100 members in the international UNFCCC Race to Zero campaign of cities, regions, businesses, investors and academic institutions is a fantastic opportunity for local leaders in the year to COP26 and beyond.
We will also explore how leading organisations are collaborating with local authorities to develop a holistic approach to the challenges of HOW to deliver an effective economic and social response to the Covid-19 pandemic, while staying true to the green transition to Net Zero.
The event will be chaired by Polly Billington, Director of UK100, and there will be an opportunity to ask questions to the panel during the Q&A.
